SOY WAX AND WOOD WICK

For months now, we've been offering you our soy wax candles with wood wick. The feedback is great and people are just as thrilled as we are to have natural, crackling (!!) and genuinely effective candles at their fingertips.

Probably because wood drills are a little less well known, we received some questions about their use at the very beginning. We like to take the time to explain the difference between conventional locks and ours, as we did in our last facebook live.

Some candles on the market are made with cotton wicks (or even lead... Phew!). Out of concern for the environment, we decided to opt for wooden wicks, despite their less popularity. Indeed, when we made this decision, there were very few candles with these wicks. It's a nice change that comes with two little tips! The most important thing is to know that wood wicks are not comparable to cotton wicks. We admit that they may require a little more patience... But for all the good they bring, it was thought that the compromise was worth it. When we light one of our candles, we have to imagine a fireplace. All you have to do is heat up the wood before it ignites. It's the same for our little pots. Be sure to hold the heat source (match or lighter) on the stem until the wood turns brown. This is the perfect clue to the fact that the wood is hot enough for it to burn and, above all, to stay lit.

The other important aspect is soy wax. People love it because it doesn't give off any toxic fumes or black smoke, is completely natural, and very effective for its durability. This is because you just need to make sure that the candle burns long enough for the wax to liquefy all the way to the edge of the glass. This way, the level of the spark plug can decrease with each use, without creating irretrievable holes in the middle.

There you go!
I dedicate the last line to all those who sent us videos of their candle crackling. This is honestly one of the most comforting noises that certainly charmed us when we made our decision for the composition of the wick. Thank you for your images, thank you for being with us. It's precious.
